How to choose a mud cleaner? Following points should be paid attention to:

First of all, the core component of a mud cleaner should be desander cyclones and desilter cyclones. During use process, the cyclone is constantly scoured by the sediment, so it should also be included in the wearing parts. When choosing a cyclone, you should firstly choose the material of product. There are two common types in the market: one is cast iron and the other is polyurethane. The survey shows that users generally think the polyurethane cyclone is more durable, light in structure and low in maintenance cost. In addition, the common specifications in the market should be selected, such as 10″ for desander cyclone and 4″ for desilter cyclone, so that once damaged, it is convenient to purchase nearby, which saves time and reduces cost.

Secondly, mud cleaner belongs to the secondary and tertiary purification equipment. It is particularly important to choose a mud cleaner that matches the upper and lower purification equipment. Therefore, mud cleaner should be selected according to processing capacity of the upper purification equipment - shale shaker. At the same time, we should consider the use cost and requirements of the lower purification equipment - decanter centrifuge. For example, the processing capacity of a HYZS703 linear shale shaker is 120m³/h (mud density: 1.2g/cm³, viscosity 45s, screen 40 mesh), calculated according to the solid content of mud 10~20%, the mud amount that treated by shale shaker and flowing to the mud cleaner for next step treatment is about 108m³/h. According to the experimental report of desander cyclones, we can choose a set of 10" polyurethane cyclone to meet the requirements. With the same calculation method, we could choose 6pcs 4" polyurethane desilter cyclones.
